BIOGRAPHY
Staša Mirković-Grujić, MA won the Bachelor’s and the Master’s degree at Belgrade Faculty of Music Arts in the professor Milica Barić’s class. She specialized at Bucharest University of Arts in the class of the eminent harpist Ion Ivan Roncea,DA. She was winning the first prizes for the solo harp interpretation in Serbia and she is the winner of the special A.Z. Propes Prize at the most prestigious international harp competition – XII International Harp Contest in Israel.
Organising concerts in Central and Southern European countries, she enriches the harp repertoire by the first-night performing of classical, jazz and ethno music. She played solo harp as a member of many home and foreign orchestras. Among the numerous recordings made for RTS, RTV, TVR, ERT and MTV, the most outstanding ones are the solo CD with the virtuosic repertoire “The Sound of Beauty“ (PGP RTS) and “The Stained Glass“ made in cooperation with the flautist Laura Levai Aksin (SKC Novi Sad).
Ever since the setting up of the Harp department at Novi Sad Academy of Arts in 2007, she has been engaged as a senior associate together with her mentor Ion Ivan Roncea,DA. From 2009 on, she has been working as the manager of the Harp department with the title of a senior lecturer. At the same time she has been teaching at the Music school “Stanković“ in Belgrade.
She is a longtime member of the World’s Harp Congress and she is striving to introduce modern trends and to improve the technique of playing and performing in Serbia. She won the Price for pedagogical work.
